Cyber Police Kashmir warns against Online misconduct, calls for responsible social media use

Refrain from sharing content promoting sectarian hatred’

Srinagar, (DD): The Cyber Police Kashmir has issued an advisory urging social media users to maintain online decorum and refrain from sharing or amplifying content that promotes sectarian hatred or disrupts harmony.

Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Kashmir, emphasized that platforms are being closely monitored for malicious content. “Strict legal action will be taken against violators under relevant laws,” the statement read.

The SP further appealed to the public to act responsibly while engaging online, stressing the importance of collective efforts in maintaining peace and unity.

“Cyber Police Kashmir is dedicated to creating a safe online environment. Citizens are encouraged to report any objectionable content via the official helpline or email,” the advisory added.

The move aims to curb online hate speech and safeguard social harmony in the region.(DD)
