CRPF Personnel Arrested in Delhi for Alleged Espionage, Leaking Security Details to Pakistan

New Delhi, (DD): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Delhi on charges of espionage, for allegedly leaking sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence officers since 2023.

According to a statement issued by the agency, the accused, Moti Ram Jat, was actively involved in espionage activities and had been sharing classified information pertaining to national security with Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs).

The NIA further revealed that the accused had been receiving funds from the PIOs through various intermediaries, indicating a well-established channel of communication and financial support.

Moti Ram Jat was arrested in Delhi and presented before the Special Court at Patiala House, which remanded him to NIA custody until 6 June. Interrogation is currently ongoing, the agency confirmed.(DD)
