CLOSING CEREMONY OF BASIC LIFE SAVER CADRE AT GOVT DEGREE COLLEGE, MENDHAR

Mendhar: DD, The Basic Life Saver Cadre, a joint initiative of the Indian Army and Govt Degree College, Mendhar, concluded on 03 July 2025 with a vibrant closing ceremony. The event was graced by Commander, Mendhar Brigade, who felicitated meritorious students with certificates and prize money for their outstanding performance.

The Cadre was Conducted under the aegis of Mendhar Brigade and Military Hospital, Rajouri in collaboration with Govt Degree College, Mendhar. The 10-day cadre aimed to equip local youth with essential emergency response and basic healthcare skills. Over 60 students from various villages of Mendhar sector participated actively, devoting their vacation to meaningful learning.

The training covered a wide spectrum of topics including First Aid, CPR, Basic Life Support, casualty handling, menstrual hygiene, water-borne diseases, and injury management in cross border shelling situations. Sessions were conducted by Army doctors and paramedical staff, using both theoretical and practical methods.

In addition, motivational lectures, career counselling, and an Awareness and Education Campaign (AEC) on the theme “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan were also held, inspiring students to adopt a healthier, purpose-driven lifestyle.

This cadre successfully instilled a spirit of community care, preparedness, and civic responsibility in the youth of this sensitive border region, strengthening the fabric of civic-military cooperation and laying the foundation for future healthcare champions.DD
