Khaltse,DD, In line with the directives of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Leh, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, convened a preparatory meeting with concerned officers, officials, and stakeholders to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Civil Defence Mock Drill across the Sub Division Khaltse. During the meeting, SDM Khaltse constituted three dedicated teams led by respective Naib Tehsildars, comprising police personnel and key stakeholders.
Following the meeting, a comprehensive Civil Defence Mock Drill was successfully conducted on May 07, 2025, in the villages of Hanu, Achinathang, and Beema. The event was carried out under the supervision of SDM Khaltse.
The mock drill involved a live demonstration aimed at enhancing community awareness about emergency preparedness and disaster response. Villagers were educated on evacuation protocols during emergencies and the significance of different sirens used in crisis scenarios.
A medical team, led by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Khaltse, Dr. Shamim Ahmad, conducted a demonstration on basic first aid techniques, underlining the critical role of prompt medical care during disasters.
The event saw active participation from Naib Tehsildars Asgar Ali, Abdul Samad, and Mohd Iqbal; BMO Khaltse Dr. Shamim Ahmad; police officers including Sub Inspector and Assistant Sub Inspectors; doctors; paramedical staff; other concerned officials; and local stakeholders.DD
