Udhampur :DD, A Passenger bus bearing registration number JK02BN 8155 was met with an accident today at Kaw Morh near Samoli on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district. The accident took place when the bus, which was on its way from Jammu to Ramban, skidded on the road and hit a bridge railing.
Luckily, all the passengers on the bus were safe in the accident. The driver and conductor, however, received minor injuries in the crash. On getting information about the accident, Traffic Police , Police promptly reached the site and arranged for the injured to be shifted to the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College, Udhampur, for treatment.
The police have filed a case over the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the precise reason for the accident. Initial reports indicate that slippery road conditions due to continue rainfall could have caused the vehicle to skid, although authorities are considering all the factors. Traffic on the highway was briefly disrupted but has now been restored to normal.DD
