BSF Adds Two New Battalions to Jammu to Stop Pakistan Infiltration

The Diplomat Desk

Jammu :TDD,The Border Security Force (BSF) has put two more battalions, with over 2,000 troops, in the Jammu area to stop people from Pakistan sneaking in and to fight recent terror acts. Sources say these new soldiers are now in “depth areas” which act as a backup defense behind the main border guards along the international border.
The fresh battalions just back from fighting Naxals in Odisha, have been placed to boost security before the tough winter. They’re now stationed in key spots like Samba other weak border areas, and near the Punjab line close to Jammu. This smart placement matters a lot because of the tricky land. The Jammu area has 485 kilometers of border with other countries full of thick forests and rough mountains.

The BSF looks after more than 2,289 kilometers of India’s west border with other nations. This includes Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. They’re always working to be better prepared. By strategically deploying these additional forces, the organization aims to create a robust defensive mechanism against potential cross-border infiltration and maintain territorial integrity in a region historically marked by security challenges.TDD
