Baramulla Drowning: Body of Second Minor Recovered, Search On for Missing Khanyar Man

Baramulla, (DD): The body of a 12-year-old boy from Hyderpora, Srinagar, was recovered on Monday during a joint rescue operation at the Gantmulla Power Canal in Boniyar, Baramulla, following a tragic drowning incident that occurred on Sunday evening.

The deceased, identified as Ahmad Bin Khalid, had drowned while bathing in the canal along with three other family members. One person was rescued shortly after the incident, and the body of another minor was recovered the same day.

With Ahmad’s recovery, the total number of bodies retrieved has risen to two, while search efforts continue for Mehnaz Rashid Shah (40), a resident of Khanyar, Srinagar, who remains untraced.

The operation, being jointly conducted by the SDRF Baramulla, Civil Defence Uri, J&K Police, and local volunteers, entered its second day on Monday. Authorities have assured that the search will continue until the missing person is located(DD)
