Awareness Programme on New Criminal Laws Conducted for Civil Society at Police Station Mendhar

Poonch:DD, District Police Poonch organized an awareness programme for civil society members on the newly enacted criminal laws at Police Station Mendhar.

The programme aimed to educate the public on the key provisions of these new laws, which have been introduced to modernize and streamline the Indian criminal justice system. A large number of prominent citizens, social activists and community leaders participated in the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Sh Shafket Hussain-JKPS, highlighted the importance of public awareness in ensuring the effective implementation of these laws. He explained how the new provisions strengthen the rights of victims, improve investigation procedures, and enhance legal transparency. Key topics discussed included changes in police procedures, citizens’ rights, new provisions on cybercrime, and measures to ensure speedy justice.

Participants actively engaged in discussions and raised queries about the impact of these laws on their daily lives. District Police assured them that the police department remains committed to protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring fair and efficient law enforcement.

District Police Poonch will continue conducting such awareness programs across the district to ensure that the public is well-informed about these legal reforms.DD
