Rajouri: Indian Army organized a medical patrol programme at Islampur, District Rajouri.
The initiative was undertaken to create awareness among people living in remote areas about various diseases, their symptoms and proactive preventive measures.
An Army medical patrol was deployed to Islampur, where it interacted with the local populace, including the Sarpanch, Panches and villagers. During the patrol, free medical check-ups were conducted and medicines were distributed.
A total of 55 villagers were attended to, comprising 30 gents, 15 ladies and 10 children. Requisite medical consultations and medicines were provided to all beneficiaries who availed the medical facilities.
The programme enabled local residents to access essential medical services, which are otherwise difficult due to the challenging terrain and remoteness of the area.
A health awareness lecture was also organized, emphasizing the importance of good eating habits, a balanced diet, personal hygiene and sanitation to enhance overall well-being and happiness among the local population.
The event generated significant enthusiasm among the villagers. The sincere efforts of the Indian Army in organizing the medical patrol were widely appreciated by the entire village community.
The residents actively participated and sought constructive guidance to improve their livelihoods.
The such initiatives by the Indian Army to reach out to populations in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, contribute significantly to strengthening trust and goodwill between the soldiers and the people.
The event also served as an effective platform to reinforce the bond between the Army and the people of the region, reflecting the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to service to the nation.DD
