Jordan Makes Military Service Compulsory For its Citizens

Amman:DD, The Cabinet of Jordanian Govt has made it compulsory military service for the youth of the country from February 2026 amid changing regional dynamics.
The decision was taken in a session on Sunday chaired by the Prime Minister of Jordan, Dr Jafar Hassan that has given approval to three – month duration for compulsory military service.


As per the decision citing draft procedure, the cabinet has approved summoning eligible youth born in 2007, and they will be called for recruitment through an electronic lottery system. (Agencies)
