Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar: DD, The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday clarified that there is currently no proposal under consideration for the upgradation of existing schools across Jammu and Kashmir, including those in the Trehgam constituency.

In a written reply to Starred AQ No. 37 raised by Mir Saifullah and AQ No. 548 by Farooq Ahmad Shah, the Minister Incharge School Education as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC stated that the department is presently focusing on strengthening existing schools by creating necessary infrastructure and ensuring adequate staffing, particularly in the recently upgraded institutions.

The reply further mentioned that the upgradation of schools from high to higher secondary level involves creation of infrastructure, teaching and non-teaching posts, and requires financial concurrence from the Finance Department. However, the demand for upgrading schools in the Trehgam constituency will be considered as and when such a proposal is formulated, the minister added. (KNC)
