Jammu and Kashmir’s LG Manoj Sinha Considers the Union Budget to be Practical and Commends Tax Changes

Diplomat Desk

Jammu :DD, Manoj Sinha, the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, regards the Union Budget as an efficient mode of building the private sector and rapidly developing modern day India. In his statements issued on Saturday, Sinha revealed that he was particularly piqued by the changes in the tax law which he labelled as ‘monumental’ for the impact it will have on the middle class.

Sinha also took this issue to the social media X platform where he thanked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for what he calls, “the efficient budget for ‘Viksit Bharat’”. He was also appreciative of the Modi government for being able to focus on and grow the economy, and having development policies that span the lower classes, youths, farmers, and women.

The Governor has pointed out that the new tax regime where a income upto Rs 12 lakh per annum is not taxed in the moddle class is a great move. He also praised other APIs like lower limits of TDS on rent, more social security, and formalization of the gig economy.

Sinha brought out the more important budget areas such as agricultural development where he termed the agri district programme as a way of looking towards rural prosperity and social equity. He also commended other taxpayer-friendly measures such as the increased TDS limit on rent, enhanced social security provisions, and efforts to formalize the gig economy.DD
