10 civilians injured in grenade explosion at weekly Sunday Market in Srinagar

Srinagar,(TDD): At least ten civilians were injured in a grenade explosion at the weekly Sunday market in Srinagar, officials said today.

An official said that suspected terrorists lobbed a grenade at security forces vehicle at TRC crossing in Srinagar at a time when weekly Sunday market was abuzz with the shoppers. The grenade missed the target and exploded on road causing injuries to ten civilians.

A doctor at the SMHS hospital Srinagar confirmed ten injured were brought there stating that all are stable.

The Sunday market or weekly flea market witnesses huge rush as people in large numbers visit the market for winter shopping.

Meanwhile, police have cordoned off the area and launched massive search to nab the attackers. (TDD)
