War in West Asia: No Change in LPG Refill Timelines, Says Indian Govt

New Delhi: The Government of India has ruled out any shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or issues with refill booking timelines.

“Certain news reports and social media posts are claiming revised LPG refill booking timelines—45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double-bottle connections,” an official statement said.

The government clarified that no such changes have been made. The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged: 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of the type of connection.

Citizens have been advised not to believe or circulate such misinformation and to avoid unnecessary or panic booking of LPG refills. It reiterated that adequate LPG stocks are available in the country and there is no cause for concern.

Meanwhile, as tensions continue in West Asia, the ongoing Iran–US–Israel conflict has entered its 25th day, with no immediate end in sight. The region remains on edge as both sides continue heavy exchanges of ammunition and missile strikes.

The conflict has begun to impact the global economy, with several countries in the region witnessing economic strain and disruptions in employment.

Reports during a brief five-day pause in hostilities suggested that the United States may be preparing for a possible ground operation, raising concerns within Iranian defence circles. The situation remains tense and unresolved, particularly amid growing geopolitical alignments and condemnations of missile strikes on US military bases.
