Terminated Professor, ‘Facebook Journalist’ Arrested for Objectionable Social Media Posts in Srinagar

Srinagar, (DD): Cyber Police Station Srinagar has arrested two individuals for allegedly posting and circulating objectionable content on social media.

The accused have been identified as Dr Abdul Bari, a terminated professor originally from Bolsoo, Kulgam, currently residing in Moomin Lane, Natipora Srinagar, and Asifa Bashir, a self-styled journalist from Chattabal, Srinagar.

According to police, both individuals were involved in uploading defamatory and inflammatory content against complainants on Facebook and other digital platforms.

Dr Bari has been handed over to Police Station Shergari, while Asifa Bashir has been placed under custody at Women’s Police Station, Rambagh.

Cyber Police officials stated that further investigation is underway and additional details will be shared in due course.(DD)
