Leh/Ladakh, The Indian Army reviewed the technical preparedness and operational readiness of troops deployed in the high-altitude areas of Ladakh, with a focus on strengthening engineering support and equipment reliability.
Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, Director General and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME (Electronics and Mechanical Engineers), visited forward areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) under the Fire and Fury Corps. During the visit, he interacted with troops and assessed engineering support systems and the operational readiness of weapons and military equipment.
The review focused on the implementation of Next-Generation Vehicles (NGVs), specialised equipment, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Mobile Repair (MR) facilities and emerging technologies.
The Army stressed the importance of equipment reliability, maintainability and rapid technical support to sustain operations in the extreme cold, rugged terrain and harsh weather conditions of high-altitude areas.
Interacting with EME personnel, Lt Gen Sahni called for continued professional excellence, mission readiness and technical innovation. He also emphasised the effective adoption of modern technologies and robust engineering support mechanisms to maintain the Army’s operational capabilities in demanding forward areas.
