Police Station Mendhar Registers First e-FIR

Mendher: DD, Keeping pace with evolving crime trends and advancements in policing, Police Station Mendhar has registered its first e-FIR.

A complaint was received via WhatsApp from Mohd Rashid, son of Mohd Shair, a resident of Ghani, Tehsil Mankote. He alleged that Mohd Shakeel, son of Mohd Taj, also from Ghani, along with three others, forcefully entered his house, physically assaulted him, vandalized household items, and took away valuables.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police verified the facts and subsequently registered an FIR (No. 23) under sections 331(6), 115(2), 351(2), 307, and 324(4). The investigation has been set in motion.

This landmark registration of an e-FIR was made possible due to the extensive awareness campaign launched by the J&K Police regarding the implementation of new criminal laws.DD
