Medical Patrol for Conducted for Gujjars & Bakkarwals at Sarsoti, Chowkian,

Rajouri & Reasi :DD, Indian Army extended healthcare services to the remote parts of Rajouri and Reasi district by mobile medical patrol in the village Chowkian, Sarsoti, Bharakh to address medical problems of the local residents as well as Gujjars and Bakkarwals in the area. The inhabitants of the area are often cut off from mainstream healthcare facilities due to their isolated geographic location and challenging terrain, benefitted immensely from this initiative which contributed to the overall well-being of the local residents who often suffer due to disparities in healthcare leading to higher morbidity and mortality rates.

The mobile medical patrol, equipped with essential medical supplies and services, reached these areas to provide healthcare with compassion for local villagers as well as Gujjars and Bakkarwals. The primary objective was to provide on-the-spot medical care & check-ups, which included basic health check-ups, treatment of common ailments and distribution of necessary medicines. The team emphasised on preventive healthcare by offering immunizations and disseminating information about hygiene, nutrition and disease prevention. The response from the local population has been overwhelmingly positive. The local population expressed deep gratitude for the Indian Army’s initiative, which brings much-needed medical services directly to their doorsteps with special focus on women healthcare. Beyond the immediate medical benefits, the mobile medical patrol played a crucial role in building and strengthening the relationship between the Indian and the local communities. A total of 40 Male, 52 Female & 09 Children were benefitted by the mobile medical patrol.DD
