Arun Jasrotia

Jammu,TDD,In a significant diplomatic outreach from Kashmir to the central leadership, Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah conducted a series of high-profile meetings in New Delhi this week. During his meeting with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Abdullah presented a traditional Kashmiri shawl, symbolizing the cultural bonds between Kashmir and the rest of India while discussing crucial road connectivity projects for the region.

The meeting focused on infrastructure development, particularly addressing the vital need for improved road networks in Jammu and Kashmir. This engagement followed Abdullah’s substantial 30-minute discussion with Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday, marking a comprehensive approach to dialogue with the central government.

The back-to-back meetings with key cabinet ministers highlight Abdullah’s efforts to strengthen ties between Kashmir and the central leadership while advocating for developmental projects in J&K. The gesture of presenting the traditional Kashmiri shawl added a personal touch to the formal discussions, reflecting the blend of cultural diplomacy with administrative dialogue.(TDD)
