IIM Jammu Concludes Future Leadership Programme


Jammu: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu successfully concluded the Nurturing Future Leadership Programme (Batch–21) under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) with a valedictory ceremony at the Vedanta MDP Centre, Jagti Campus.

The five-day programme, held from August 3 to 7, was designed to strengthen academic leadership, enhance institutional effectiveness, and equip faculty members with contemporary leadership competencies essential for higher education institutions.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu, in the presence of Dr. Praveen Kumar, Programme Director, IIM Jammu.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Mishra congratulated them on completing the programme and emphasized that learning is a continuous process whose true value lies in the effective application of knowledge in the workplace. He highlighted the importance of mutual learning and noted that such programmes facilitate the exchange of ideas among participants and faculty.

Prof. Mishra further observed that students are the ultimate beneficiaries of every learning initiative and encouraged participants to serve as ambassadors of IIM Jammu by carrying forward the values of excellence, continuous learning and professional integrity in their respective institutions.

The valedictory ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar, followed by a programme report highlighting the objectives, academic themes and key learning outcomes. He said the programme provided participants with a multidisciplinary learning platform through interactive sessions, collaborative discussions and experiential learning.

During the participants’ reflection session, faculty members shared their experiences and appreciated the programme’s practical orientation, academic rigour and engaging deliberations. They noted that the programme broadened their perspectives on academic leadership, institutional governance, innovation and effective teaching-learning practices while promoting peer learning and professional networking.

Certificates were also distributed to participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Praveen Kumar, who expressed gratitude to the faculty members, participants, resource persons and organizing team for their contributions to the successful conduct of the programme. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Song and the National Anthem.

The successful completion of Batch–21 reflects IIM Jammu’s continued commitment to strengthening leadership capacities in higher education through quality faculty development initiatives and supporting the objectives of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme.
