EXERCISE AL-NAJAH V BETWEEN INDIA AND OMAN IN PROGRESS AT RABKOOT TRG AREA , OMAN

Jammu,TDD Monitoring: The Indo-Oman joint military exercise AL- NAJAH V 2024, currently underway at Rabkoot Trg Area, Oman is in full swing. 

The exercise commenced on 13th September and will continue till 26th  September. 

The Indian Army contingent comprising 60 personnel is being represented by a Battalion of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment along with personnel from other arms and services. 

In the initial few days, classes were conducted on combat first aid and casualty evacuation, weapon handling of both armies’ weapons and counter drones drills to promote interoperability keeping in mind the latest trends of the modern battlefield.

 Thereafter, due emphasis was laid on Assault Rifle, Sniper, Pistols and LMG firing with an aim to simulate their application in actual operations by inculcating reflex fire and Close-quarter battle. 

Valuable combat experience was shared by both contingents through case studies. The exercise saw Indian and Royal Army of Oman Engineers collaborating in field engineering tasks, addressing yet another pivotal aspect of real-time combat scenarios.

Subsequently, both contingents engaged in a dynamic Field Training Exercise, wherein stress was laid on real-world scenarios and practical application of combat skills. 

The same has allowed troops to refine their response strategies to various complex situations to include clearance of Built-Up Areas, Casualty Evacuation, hostage rescue and replenishment of supplies and ammunition in a combat zone to name a few. 

In addition to the tactical drills, AL-NAJAH V has provided a platform for cultural exchange, which plays an integral role in strengthening the bond between the two forces. 

The exercise is set to culminate with a grand live-fire demonstration, offering an opportunity to exhibit the cohesion and interoperability developed between the two armies for conduct of peacekeeping operations in concurrence with the UN Mandate. TDD Monitoring
