DRDO Successfully Flight-Tests Indigenous Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile

Diplomat Correspondent

New Delhi, In a major boost to India’s indigenous defence capabilities, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the flight-test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast on Monday.

According to DRDO, all mission objectives were successfully achieved during the test. Data captured by various tracking instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, confirmed the missile’s accurate performance and successful completion of the flight profile.
The LRLACM is an indigenously developed missile system, with all major subsystems designed and developed by various DRDO laboratories in collaboration with Indian industry partners. The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, served as the nodal laboratory for the project.

Senior officials from DRDO, along with representatives from the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, witnessed the successful launch.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO scientists and industry partners for the achievement, describing it as a significant milestone in strengthening India’s self-reliance in defence technology. Defence Secretary and DRDO Chairman Rajesh Kumar Singh monitored the launch activities and lauded the efforts of all teams involved in the successful flight-test.

The successful trial marks another important step in enhancing India’s long-range precision strike capabilities and advancing the country’s indigenous missile development programme.
