District Mineral Officer Kathua, Suspended Amid Pending Inquiry

Srinagar, (TDD) Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the suspension of Naveen Kumar, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua, pending an inquiry into his conduct.

The suspension was issued under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956.

According to Government Order, Kumar has been directed to remain attached to the Directorate of Geology and Mining during the suspension period.

In the interim, Varinder Singh, the District Mineral Officer Jammu, has been tasked with managing the routine work of the Kathua office in addition to his existing duties until further orders.

The action follows a reference dated November 28, 2024, from the Personal Section of the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Further updates are awaited as the inquiry progresses.(TDD)
