Diplomat Correspondent

Jammu: DD, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Sat Sharma today said that his party is committed to strengthening democracy at the grassroots.
He was speaking at a meeting where Leader of Opposition in J&K Assembly Sunil Sharma, and General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, convened a high-level organizational meeting at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders including State General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Anwar Khan, and Gopal Mahajan.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir and finalized the party’s forthcoming programmes.
It was decided that BJP J&K will soon organize a comprehensive organizational workshop involving all state office bearers and representatives from every organizational district of the Union Territory.
Sat Sharma, while leading the discussion on prevailing socio-political conditions in J&K, said that the BJP is committed to strengthening democracy at the grassroots.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir stands at the threshold of a new era under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The politics of separatism and opportunism is dead and no force, political or otherwise can stop Modi’s vision from reaching every home here, he said.
“BJP is the present and future of this region ensuring J&K with development, national integration, and political stability. To take the BJP’s development vision to every household, the party will undertake massive public outreach in the coming months”, said Sat Sharma.
Sunil Sharma, taking a direct swipe at the opposition, stated that those who thrived on discrimination, corruption, and divisive politics for decades are now irrelevant. The people have seen through their lies. BJP’s politics is about empowerment without appeasement, and we will take this message to every booth, every voter, every household, he said.

Outlining the organizational roadmap, Ashok Koul said that BJP is organizing massive Tiranga Yatras across all districts, celebrating the spirit of nationalism. He said that the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary on September 25 and Pt. Prem Nath Dogra’s birth anniversary on October 24 will be observed with full public participation at the ground level. Mann Ki Baat listening programmes will be held at every booth, he said and prompted the State General Secretaries to intensify their ‘Pravas’ to cover every inch of the UT.

The State General Secretaries also provided detailed insight into the ongoing organizational programmes in their allotted areas.DD
