Jammu: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu commenced a five-day Management Immersion Programme for MBA students of IILM University, Gurugram, scheduled from September 21st to 25th Sept 2026, providing participants with an opportunity to experience the academic environment, pedagogy, institutional ecosystem, and learning resources of IIM Jammu. The training program consisted of 67 MBA students from IILM University.
The inaugural programme was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, Dr. Archana Sharama, Dr. Sundar R. and Dr. Sunita Dwivedi and Dr. Yavar Eshan, Faculty Members, IILM University, Gurugram. Dr. Mahesh Gadekar is also the Program Director for this training programme. The inaugural program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), IIM Jammu, highlighted the role of EE&C as a bridge between industry and academia and provided an overview of its diverse programmes and initiatives. Emphasising that management education is about embracing diversity and change, he encouraged participants to make the most of the programme and recognise time as their most valuable investment. He urged them to actively participate, ask questions, engage in meaningful interactions, and ensure that their time at IIM Jammu translates into valuable learning and lasting insights.
The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address and an overview of the programme by Dr. Archana Sharma, Program Director. She provided participants with an overview of the five-day immersion programme and highlighted its focus on equipping students with a comprehensive set of knowledge, perspectives, and practical tools relevant to contemporary management challenges. She encouraged the participants to make the most of the programme, interact with IIM Jammu faculty and students, and actively engage throughout the five days.
Dr. Sunita Dwivedi, Faculty, IILM University, while addressing the MBA students during the Management Immersion Programme, highlighted the importance of experiential learning, industry exposure, and applying management concepts in real-world contexts.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sundar.R , Program Director, followed by the National Song and National Anthem.The inaugural programme also included an academic block tour, group photograph, and high tea, providing the participants an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the campus and interact informally with the programme coordinators and faculty members.
The five-day Management Immersion Programme will provide the MBA students from IILM University with exposure to the academic ecosystem of IIM Jammu through classroom engagements, interactions with faculty and students, and experiential learning opportunities. The programme is designed to encourage participants to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of management concepts, and develop practical approaches to contemporary managerial challenges.
