LEH, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena stated that the historic breakthrough of the Zojila Tunnel will prove to be a game-changer in the development journey of the Union Territory. Describing the infrastructure milestone as a dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saxena emphasized that the tunnel will significantly strengthen connectivity in the strategic border regions of Ladakh and ensure vital, year-round access to the rest of India.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for making the highly anticipated project a reality. He commended the ongoing central support for launching new road infrastructure initiatives across the high-altitude region, which are expected to substantially boost the local economy and improve regional travel conditions.
Local administrative officials anticipate that the completion of the all-weather passage will deeply impact the socio-economic landscape of the Union Territory.
