Speaker Rather dares saffron party to bring vote of no confidence against him

BJP refuses to call off protest, Speaker adjourns House till Tomorrow

TDD Correspondent
Srinagar,(TDD): As the House met third time in a day after two back-to-back adjournments, BJP legislators refused to settle down and continued their protest against the Article 370 restoration resolution passed in the House, the Speaker of Legislative Assembly Abdur Rahim Rather dared the BJP legislators to bring vote of no confidence motion against him.
“If you are not satisfied with my way of doing things, bring a vote of no confidence motion against me,” Rather dared the protesting BJP MLAs, who had climbed the Assembly secretary’s table to register their protest against passing of historic resolution on Article 370.
As the BJP legislators refused calm down, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the House till tomorrow.
Earlier, as the House met at 10:15 am, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary moved a resolution seeking restoration of Article 370. BJP legislators created an uproar and didn’t allow the proceedings. The party accused the NC of running pro-Pakistan agenda in the House (TDD)
