Iran-Israel war:Relief for Kashmiri Families as 90 Students Set to Arrive in Delhi Tonight Amid Evacuation Efforts

Diplomat Correspondent

New Delhi/Srinagar, (DD)In a major sigh of relief for families across the Kashmir Valley, 90 students from the region are scheduled to land in New Delhi tonight as part of an ongoing evacuation operation spearheaded by the Government of India. The operation comes in the wake of rising tensions and uncertainty in the region they were studying in, prompting urgent calls for their safe return.

Visuals from the airport show emotional scenes as anxious parents, officials, and volunteers prepare to welcome the evacuees. Many families had spent days in distress over their children’s safety, and the news of their imminent arrival has brought a wave of relief and gratitude.

“We are extremely thankful to the Government of India for responding swiftly to the concerns of Kashmiri families and launching this evacuation at the right time,” said Farhat Jabeen, a parent from Anantnag. “This brings peace to our hearts.”

A senior official involved in the coordination effort confirmed that more evacuation phases are being planned to ensure no student is left behind. “This is a national priority. Every Indian citizen must feel protected, regardless of where they are,” the official said.

Families and civil society groups have also lauded the role of the Indian Embassy and officials who provided constant reassurance and logistical support to stranded students during this difficult period.

“We remain hopeful that all our remaining children will be brought home safely in the coming days,” said Zubair Shah, a community leader from Baramulla.

As the first group arrives tonight, emotions are running high — a moment of homecoming, hope, and healing(DD)
