Leh, DD: Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, convened a meeting of the Project Development and Management Consultancy for Swadesh Darshan 2.0 at the Video Conference Room, DC Office Leh, on March 13.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given to share the approval of the Leh Master Plan report of Swadesh Darshan 2.0, the approval of the weekly and monthly progress reports, and the approval of the deployment invoice for February 2025. Developments of various recreational activities and spaces at the Igoo Phey Canal/Stok link road, such as a cycling and walking ramp, food stalls, souvenir shops, star gazing areas, viewpoints and others, were discussed during the project. Services such as a Hop-on Hop-off bus service were also discussed with transportation stakeholders. Discussions also took place regarding the Indus Recreational Centre Phase II with all stakeholders.
Stakeholders from the tourism and transportation industries provided their feedback, suggestions, and viewpoints, which were incorporated during the meeting. It was also suggested that a site visit be conducted with the Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC to the project sites to gain a better understanding of the Swadesh Darshan project. A detailed design of the project was requested from the management before the site visit.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh, Chief Planning Officer Leh, Assistant Director of Tourism Leh, Executive Councillor of Igoo Phey Leh, Tehsildar Leh, and officers and officials from various departments. Stakeholders from the tourism and transportation industries also participated in the meeting.DD
