Achabal spring comes alive, Locals rejoice as prayers answered

Diplomat Correspondent

Achabal, (DD): The historic Achabal spring in South Kashmir has once again started flowing, bringing immense joy and relief to the local community. The resurgence of water is being seen as a divine blessing, as residents and devotees had been offering prayers for its revival.

The centuries-old spring, a major tourist attraction known for its pristine waters and historical significance, had seen a worrying decline in flow over the past few months. The sudden revival has sparked celebrations among the people of Achabal and surrounding areas.

Expressing his joy, Ghulam Nabi Mir, an elderly resident of Achabal, said, “This is nothing short of a miracle. We have been praying for months, and now our prayers have been answered. This spring is our heritage and lifeline.”

Another local, Shaista Bano, shared her excitement, stating, “I grew up seeing this spring in its full glory, but in recent times, its flow had reduced drastically. Today, seeing the water gush again brings tears of happiness.”

Many believe that the revival of the spring will boost local tourism and benefit businesses dependent on visitors. Mohammad Ashraf, a shopkeeper near the Achabal Garden, remarked, “With the water flowing again, more tourists will visit. This is good news for everyone who depends on tourism for a livelihood.”

Officials and environmental experts are monitoring the situation to understand the reasons behind the decline and sudden revival. While some attribute it to natural underground water dynamics, others emphasize the importance of sustainable conservation efforts.

For now, the people of Achabal are rejoicing, cherishing the return of their beloved spring, and hoping it continues to flow for generations to come.(DD)
