INDIAN ARMY’S SURYA COMMAND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES SURYA QUEST 2025 MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION FROM DEHRADUN TO LEH

Leh:DD, The Surya Command of the Indian Army has successfully completed its high-altitude motorcycle expedition, “Surya Quest 2025”, marking a spectacular journey of endurance, resilience and camaraderie.
The expedition was flagged off on 05 September 2025 from the Golden Key Division Headquarters, Clement Town, Dehradun, by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, Army Commander, Central Command.
After traversing some of the most scenic yet challenging Himalayan terrain across Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh (Spiti & Lahaul) and finally into Ladakh, the expedition culminated today with a flag-in ceremony at the Hall of Fame, Leh, presided over by Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, Chief of Staff, Central Command.
Themed “Indian Army – Guardians of Northern Borders”, the expedition symbolised the Army’s enduring commitment to safeguarding the nation under extreme conditions.


Riding through high passes, remote valleys and border areas, the team paid tribute to the valour and sacrifices of soldiers guarding India’s frontiers.
The expedition saw the participation of both Army personnel and 12 civilian riders, riding Royal Enfield motorcycles in partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Along the route, the riders interacted with local communities, NCC cadets and Army veterans, promoting military-civil connect, border tourism, cultural linkages and national integration.
Speaking at the culmination, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva said: “Surya Quest 2025 is not just about adventure riding – it is about honouring our soldiers, strengthening military-civil bonds, and celebrating the spirit of resilience, unity and nation-building.”
The journey stands as a celebration of India’s motorcycling heritage and a reminder of the Army’s unflinching commitment as the Guardians of the Northern Borders.DD
