Ladakh DGP Assigned Additional Role as Director of Civil Defence

Leh, (DD) In a significant administrative development, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh has appointed the Director General of Police (DGP) of the Union Territory as the Director of Civil Defence.

The appointment, made under the provisions of the Civil Defence Act, 1968, empowers the DGP to lead and coordinate civil defence operations across Ladakh. According to the official notification, the DGP will now be responsible for exercising all powers and duties outlined in the Act and its associated rules and regulations to ensure efficient implementation of civil defence measures throughout the region.

This move is expected to strengthen disaster preparedness and response mechanisms in Ladakh.(DD)
