Two Jaish Terrorists Killed, Suspect Held in Udhampur’s Majalta

Udhampur, Security forces killed two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists and arrested a suspected associate during a joint counter-terrorism operation in the Majalta area of Udhampur district.

The operation, launched under Operation Sohan on the intervening night of September 16–17, was conducted in the Brattal area following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly carried out the targeted operation. Despite challenging weather conditions, rugged terrain and poor visibility, the forces continued the operation, resulting in an encounter in which two terrorists were killed.

The slain terrorists were identified as Saddam and Mustafa, who officials said were linked to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit. One suspect was also taken into custody.Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the slain terrorists, including an AK assault rifle with four magazines, an M4 carbine with three magazines, a Glock pistol with two magazines and four grenades.The Jammu and Kashmir Police, while sharing details of the operation on X, posted: “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide!”Search and surveillance operations have been intensified in Majalta and adjoining areas to trace any remaining terrorist presence and prevent further threats.
