Lt Governor Visits Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Reviews Progress of Ongoing Restoration Projects


Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the historic Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and reviewed the progress of various ongoing conservation and development projects aimed at preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage.


During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, Chief Secretary Atal Dullo, Principal Secretary, Culture Brij Mohan Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, Executive Director of Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) Deepika Sharma, and other concerned officials.


The Lieutenant Governor inspected the restoration work being carried out on the damaged wall and slab of the historic Gadadhar Ji Temple, located adjacent to the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex. He directed the officials to expedite the restoration process while ensuring the highest standards of quality in the execution of works.


Commissioner JMC briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the progress of the construction of a ramp-based multi-level car parking facility being developed within the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex to improve visitor convenience and infrastructure.


Later, the Lieutenant Governor visited the newly opened Library-cum-Cafeteria, where the Executive Director of MMJHS apprised him of the remaining works related to the revival, restoration, and renovation of the heritage complex.


The ongoing projects include the conservation of the Darbar Hall, Raja Ram Singh Palace, Raja Amar Singh Palace, and the Dogra Art Museum, along with several other important restoration works. These projects are expected to be completed in the coming months and will significantly contribute to the preservation and promotion of Jammu’s cultural and architectural heritage.
