Ladakh LG Launches Four New Police Initiatives to Boost Tourist Safety

DD Correspondent
Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena today inaugurated four new initiatives of the Ladakh Police aimed at modernising policing and enhancing safety and assistance for tourists and local residents.
The initiatives include the ‘Jullay 2.0’ tourist assistance app, 20 e-challan devices, five GPS-enabled ERSS beats, and tourist facilitation centres.
The ‘Jullay 2.0’ app will provide tourists and locals with real-time safety alerts, weather updates, road conditions, live notifications, incident reporting, online police complaint filing and emergency assistance.

The 20 e-challan devices will enable digital enforcement of traffic rules, promoting greater transparency and road safety. Meanwhile, five GPS-enabled ERSS beats will ensure rapid police response during emergencies.

Tourist facilitation centres have also been established at remote locations, including North Pulu and Serchu, to provide on-the-spot assistance to visitors.

The initiatives are aimed at making the Ladakh Police more accountable, transparent and citizen-centric while creating a safer environment for tourists and residents across the region.
