J&K Police Bust Terror Support Network in Kishtwar, Two More Arrested

Kishtwar, In a significant breakthrough against terrorism and its support infrastructure, Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested two more accused allegedly involved in providing logistical and other assistance to local terrorists in the Dachan area of Kishtwar district.


According to police, the arrests were made in connection with FIR No. 167/2025 registered at Police Station Kishtwar under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 13, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Sections 7/27 of the Arms Act.


Sharing details of the investigation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Naresh Singh (JKPS), said that sustained efforts and meticulous investigation led to the arrest of Tariq Ahmed Ginoo, son of Late Mohammad Shaban, a government employee in the Forest Department, and Mohammad Iqbal, son of Ghulam Abbas Wani. Both are residents of Tander, Dachan in Kishtwar district. Police stated that the accused were allegedly involved in facilitating and supporting terrorist activities in the region. Earlier in the same case, Muneer Ahmed and Mashkoor Ahmed, both residents of Chatroo, were arrested for similar offences.


SSP Kishtwar said that the investigation is progressing and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend all individuals linked to the network. He emphasized that anyone found involved in supporting terrorism will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.


Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its support ecosystem, Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, public order, and security across the district. Police officials said that further arrests and developments are expected as the investigation continues.
