Country’s Largest Ramadan Spiritual Gathering in Malappuram


Thiruvananthapuram: The prayer congregation at Malappuram Swalat Nagar, the largest gathering of believers in the country on the 27th night of Holy Ramadan, will be held on Monday, March 16. Lakhs of devotees are expected to join the spiritual assembly in anticipation of Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), which carries the blessings of a thousand months in a single night.
The prayer meet is organized under the aegis of Ma’din Academy, which is completing three decades of excellence in spiritual, educational and charitable sectors. This event also marks the anniversary of the monthly Swalat prayer gatherings held at the Ma’din campus. Major projects related to the academy’s 30th-anniversary celebrations will also be announced at the venue.

The Ma’din Ramadan campaign commenced on the first of Ramadan with various spiritual and educational programs. The month-long campaign includes spiritual platforms, knowledge sessions, relief activities, study camps, Iftar meets and memorial lectures.
Programmes of the prayer meet will begin on March 14. At 10:00 AM, Samastha President E. Sulaiman Musliyar will preside over the inauguration, which will be performed by Samastha Secretary Ponmala Abdul Qadir Musliyar.

On Monday, March 16, various spiritual programs will start from 10:00 AM. These include the Khatmul Quran prayer meet at 10:00 AM, the Badr Mawlid session at 1:00 PM and the Asmaul Husna Rathib at 4:00 PM. Following this, a Grand Iftar meet for one lakh people will be organized, strictly adhering to green protocol. After Iftar, Tasbih, Awwabin, Tarawih and Witr prayers will be held at the Ma’din Grand Masjid, Old Masjid, the main ground and various auditoriums.
The main ceremonies of the prayer congregation will begin at the central stage at 9:00 PM. The primary highlights of this holy gathering include Swalath, prayers for forgiveness, commemorations of holy men and the concluding prayer.

The program, which will last until 3:00 AM, will be inaugurated by Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar, General Secretary of the All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama.
Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleel Al Bukhari, State General Secretary of Kerala Muslim Jamaat and Chairman of Ma’din Academy, will deliver the keynote address. Sayyid Ali Bafaqi Thangal, Vice President of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, will lead the opening prayer. Speeches will be delivered by Samastha Secretary Ponmala Abdul Qadir Musliyar, Perode Abdurrahman Saqafi, Kerala Hajj Committee Chairman Dr. Hussain Saqafi Chullikkode, C. Muhammad Fayzi, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Azhari and Sayyid Muneerul Ahdal Kasaragod.

To accommodate the believers, vast pavilions and auditoriums are being set up in and around the venue. Over a hundred helpline counters involving Police, Fire Force and medical wings will be established. Extensive sound and light arrangements will be made at the main venue and surrounding grounds. Iftar and Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) facilities will be provided at all these locations. A special Gulf counter for expatriates and Suhoor facilities for those traveling from afar will also be arranged.
Arrangements for the lakhs of believers are being made in cooperation with the government and the police. A super-specialty Intensive Care Unit will be stationed at the venue for emergencies. Additionally, the services of the Fire Force and a 5,555-member volunteer corps will be available.

Under Ma’din Academy, 33,000 students study across 55 institutions, including Polytechnic, Arts and Science colleges, B.Pharm, MBA, English Medium schools, integrated religious and secular education centers, Q-Land, Hiya Academy, She Campus and Daru Zahra for women, Science Center, Orphanage and Able World for the visual.
