Pakistani LeT Terrorist Yasir Killed in Budgam Encounter


Budgam: A Pakistani national affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), identified as Yasir, was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Ashdar Gali area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.


According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the operation was launched based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. The joint operation, carried out by security forces under Operation Ashdar, led to an exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security forces.


During the operation, one terrorist was neutralised. Following the encounter, security forces conducted a search of the area and recovered an AK-series rifle and other combat-related material from the slain terrorist.


The police later confirmed that the deceased terrorist was a Pakistani national and a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Sharing the update on X, the Jammu and Kashmir Police stated, “You can run, but you cannot hide.”


The operation is being described as a significant success against the terrorist network operating in the Budgam region. Further investigation into the recovered material and other aspects of the operation is underway, while security forces continue to maintain heightened security in the area.
